Talented musician and founder of Mando Montreal, Jonathan has built a reputable musical career since 1998. Working as a guitarist, mandolinist, teacher, arranger, composer and orchestral conductor, he is also an active soloist musician (2016 New York Mandolin Festival, McGill Contemporary Ensemble, Nouvel Ensemble Moderne). His musical talents brought him to work with groups (Les Hommes Rouges, Isabelle et les Rats, Los Entonces), contemporary dance shows (Ma Soeur Alice, Dusk Dances), literature shows (Rhizome, Planète Rebelle) and film music compositions (Byblos, Épouvantable Épouvantail). He studied guitar at Cégep de St-Laurent with Marc Deschênes and Ben Charest and completed a film music composition degree at Université du Quebec à Montréal. Furthermore, he refined his classical mandolin skills studying under the renowned french mandolinist Florentino Calvo and his jazz playing in masterclasses studying with renowned musicians worldwide.
